Membership Criteria and Rules

  1. The Marine Mammal Protected Areas Task Force consists of members of the World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA) and the Species Survival Commission (SSC) with extensive knowledge of the various aspects of marine mammal place-based conservation, including science, policy, management and education.
  2. Membership cannot be acquired by self-nomination
  3. Members are appointed by the Task Force Chair(s)
  4. Membership is reviewed every four years in correspondence with the IUCN World Conservation Congress
